Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the fundamental concepts and principles of an AIMS compliant with ISO/IEC 42001
- Analyze the ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AIMS from an implementer’s perspective
- Launch and plan the AIMS implementation in accordance with ISO/IEC 42001, utilizing PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and other best practices
- Support the operational maintenance and continuous improvement of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
- Prepare an organization to successfully undergo a third-party certification audit
Course Outline
Day 1: Introduction to ISO/IEC 42001 and initiating the AIMS implementation
Day 2: Strategic planning for AIMS implementation
Day 3: Executing the AIMS implementation
Day 4: Monitoring the AIMS, driving continual improvement, and preparing for the certification audit
Day 5: Certification examination
Upon completion, you will be able to:
- Explain the basic concepts and principles of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
- Interpret the ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AIMS from the perspective of an implementer
- Initiate and plan the implementation of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001 by utilizing PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and other best practices
- Support an organization in operating, maintaining, and continually improving an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
- Prepare an organization to undergo a third party certification audit
Examination
The “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer” exam fulfills all requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP). The assessment covers the following competency areas:
Domain 1: Core principles and concepts of an artificial intelligence management system (AIMS)
Domain 2: Requirements for artificial intelligence management systems
Domain 3: Planning the AIMS implementation based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 4: Execution of AIMS implementation based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 5: Monitoring and measurement of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 6: Continual improvement and preparation for AIMS certification audits
Available Credentials and Requirements
Following the examination, you may apply for one of the following credentials based on your professional background and project involvement. Certification is granted upon fulfilling all tier-specific requirements, including the signing of the PECB Code of Ethics.
1. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Provisional Implementer

2. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Implementer

Professional Experience: Two years of total experience, with at least one year focused on artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: A minimum of 200 hours of project activities

3. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer

Exam Requirement: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

Professional Experience: Five years of total experience, with at least two years focused on artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: A minimum of 300 hours of project activities

4. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Senior Lead Implementer

Exam Requirement: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

Professional Experience: Ten years of total experience, with at least seven years focused on artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: A minimum of 1,000 hours of project activities

General Information
- The cost of certification and examination is included in the course fee.
- Participants are provided with comprehensive course materials featuring over 400 pages of insights, practical case studies, exercises, and quizzes.
- A certificate of completion worth 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be awarded to participants who attend the course.
- Candidates who complete the training but do not pass the exam may retake the examination once at no additional cost within 12 months of the initial exam date.
