This course provides a foundational understanding of Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, while also offering a high-level introduction to Power BI. The curriculum is centered around a real-world workflow I previously handled manually for a former employer. We will construct a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor tasks related to homes under construction, storing the data on SharePoint for simplicity. Additionally, we will leverage Power Virtual Agents to guide users on enabling bots within Microsoft Teams, directing them to essential documents like loan agreements, budgets, and sales contracts that may be dispersed across various SharePoint sites. I believe these bots have significant potential for HR and IT teams, particularly in managing repetitive inquiries. Furthermore, the course demonstrates how to configure simple flows in Power Automate to save attachments from specific senders (in our example, bank-organized unit inspections) and create other basic flows that capture data from Microsoft Forms on SharePoint. We will also build fully automated processes using the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams. After completing the app, bot, and flow, the final step involves creating a straightforward Power BI report. We will use Power Automate to send a snapshot of the table containing the most recently completed tasks to a designated recipient (the bank in this scenario) every two weeks. This report will include the completion dates and budget amounts for those tasks, all collected within the app. This course is designed to be high-level. I encourage all learners to use ChatGPT for more technical aspects, such as coding elements or formulas in Power Apps. However, this topic is also covered in the course, where I demonstrate how to effectively utilize ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
